[quest 001] Mister Mischief

Hugo rubbed his hands together as he sat on the fence of the Dorsee Stables, overlooking the fields. Towards them, on the paths, he could see children and adults coming to see the newest attraction. Those who were too young to ride one of the prized winged-horses could now enjoy the little petting zoo they had set up. Setting up the exhibitions had been exhausting, but now he could enjoy the smiles on the faces of the kids as they approached. Sitting on his place on the fence, a scurry in the grass caught his attention. The fencer didn't get up to investigate, but soon an employee came up to him.

"Have you seen any Peallaidh shuffling around? It got out, and boss won't be happy. He payed a lot of money for same locals to catch him one for the day. It's still got its wings tied, but I'm afraid the string'll loosen up if it roams free for to long, and then we'll lose it for sure!" the NPC said, and Hugo just nodded, getting of the fence and starting in the direction in which he supposed the Peallaidh had gone, judging by the small path of parted grass.

The trail didn't seem to end and Hugo wandered how fast that plump rabbit-like creature could run. He arrived at the shade of a tree, pausing for a moment to catch his breath. He could see the stables well away on a hill. The lancer looked up at the branches of the tree, and his eyes widened in surprise and delight. Somehow, the Peallaidh had made its way up the tree. Without losing time, the boy heaved himself up on a branch and stretched his arm until he managed t cup the furry creature in his hand. It tried to break free, scratching at the inside of his palm and biting his finger, but he didn't let go. Smiling to himself, he launched himself off the branch and onto the ground, careful as to not hurt the creature he was supposed to deliver back to the farm.

Ascending the hill was the hardest part. When he had come, he had easily slid on the hill downwards, but climbing was difficult, even more when he had to carry the constantly squirming mass of white fur. In a moment of forgetfulness, Hugo ended up releasing the Peallaidh, which didn't lose any time and began prancing away. Its wings were almost free and the lancer realized that he had also forgotten to secure the strings that kept its wings in place and prevented it from flying away. He rushed after it as it took flight uphill, still too dazed to properly raise above ground, which allowed the boy to lunged and grab it after a few yards of running after it. Panting, he forcefully tied the string back into place then placed the creature in his bag. It was time to go to the stables and collect his reward.
